03/13/2021 - Spring Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Cody is a tall, athletic 1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through a squared setup. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with as he connects with power (88 mph exit velocity) and gap to gap pop. At 1B, he displays smooth, athletic actions. Feet are active as he displays proper foot work around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / sure and he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Cody has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

02/20/2021 - Mid-Atlantic Combined Skills Training - Columbia, MD Cody is a LHP/1B prospect who worked hard during the Mid-Atlantic Skills Weekend. On the mound, Cody shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph. Breaking ball sits from 64-65mph with 2-8 break. Changeup sits from 69-70mph. Loosening his arm action can help Cody improve his pitch command and velocity. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and gets into his load well. He works to barrel up the baseball and produces solid contact. Cody can create more consistent contact by working through a more level swing path. Overall, Cody is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
