01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Cody continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off a soft chest. Pop times showed in the 2.1 range with accuracy / carry on his throws. Offensively, he continues to shine through an open setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation through a balanced approach. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight from backside into a firm front side. Cody has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

06/28/2021 - All-In Membership - San Rafael (San Francisco), CA Cody is an athletic C/3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. Behind the dish, Cody is quick moving to block and keeps the ball in front of him. He sits in an athletic stance and sticks the ball well. His exchange is quick and he makes on-line throws through the 2B bag. At 3B, Cody shows active footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. He throws from a 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate/on-line across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and gets into his load well. 11/22/2020 - All-In Membership - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Cody is a very talented 2-way prospect (C/3B) who can make things happen in a variety of ways on the diamond. With the bat, this righty displays an open/balanced setup with smooth rhythm to load. Hands are quick as he whips the barrel and engages his lower 1/2. He connects and creates good extension through contact. Behind the dish, he sits in with athletic actions and good flexion. He presents a low target, receives with a soft mitt and frames well. He is quick laterally and centers pitches in the dirt. Transfer is clean with accuracy on his throws to 2B - pop times at 2.10. At 3B, he has active prep and works right to left in his approach to the GB. Hands are presented out in front as he funnels smoothly. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
