01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cody continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times were as low as 1.88. Throws display accuracy and on line carry through his target. He will control the running game with his feet / arm. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process and is a wall behind the dish. At the plate, he continues to shine where he has well above average hitting / power potential. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows great barrel accuracy with power showing best to the pull side. Cody has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Lisbet is a solid catcher our of the 2017 class. Behind the plate is where Cody excels, with pop times ranging from 1.9-2.0s and his ability to block the ball with good range allow him to control the running game. He has an athletic setup, sways well to earn strikes for his pitchers and communicates with the defense very well. Offensively, he has an open setup, directs his hands right to the ball and sports solid bat speed. His body works on leverage and rhythm like a Gary Sheffield type hitter. Projects nicely as a solid defensive catcher at the next level.

07/20/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Cody showcased his best measureables and date to Baseball Factory at the National West event. Behind the plate, he was 1.96 - 2.1 with his pops, showing a quick transfer and quick feet to throw. He sat well, received with a sure glove, tracking it all the way in and was quick down to block and quick up to recover. His short/athletic frame is durable and projects to withstand the physical depends of the position. At the plate, he hit off a stiff front side with activated hands and a direct bat path. He generated torque with his legs and rotated his core to help accelerate the barrel through contact. In all - Cody is an underclassmen that has two years to fine-tune his game and add even more explosion for the next level.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cody is a well rounded athlete as a R/R catcher. Behind the dish, he sits in well and tracks the ball into a soft mitt. He puts his athleticism on display as he's able to get around pitches in the dirt, centering them off of his chest. On throws down to 2B, he has quick footwork replacing well and working in-line toward his target at 2B. Offensively, he shows a balanced approach with rhythm in his hands. He takes a hack on a level path, connecting and hitting line-drives. Only a 2017 grad - Cody has the tools that will only continue to develop in the upcoming years.

10/24/2014 - 2014 Under Armour So Cal Classic Underclass Participant Small, athletic frame, spark plug type of player, has quick hands at the plate with raw pop to the pull side

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
