Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

01/11/2008 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2008 We have now seen Cody on several occasions and he never lets us down. Stiles is a lean, muscular RHP that was simply dominant. His FB was 88-92 mph his entire outing and some run to it. His CB has late break and tight spin while he has plus feel for a CH that fades from lefty's. Cody is also a solid OF, but his abilities on the mound make him a prospect right now. A RHP with a loose, quick arm that seems to only get better all the time, Cody is a no brainer at the next level.

01/12/2007 - Under Armour All-America Game 2007 He simply went right after hitters with his FB that topped at 91 mph and sat at 86-88 mph. His FB showed sink and 2 plane action and he threw it with excellent command. His off speed stuff was well above avg. as well.

12/27/2006 - Christmas Camp and Tournament - 2006 Looked very good on the mound. Topped at 88 MPH, very smart on the mound, has a plan. Improved hitting numbers, has pop, bat speed, and lets travel.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
