10/18/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Louisville, KY Cody is a strong, athletic 3B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry (92 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. On the bump, fastball showed range of 82-85 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and locates to both sides of the plate. With 2 years to further develop, Cody has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
