11/01/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Futures Texas Cody is an athletic RHP with a good pitcher's frame at 6'2"/205 lbs. He has a balanced delivery with a quick arm, and he works around the strike zone with all of his stuff. His high release point helps him to get excellent downhill plane on his pitches with his fastball topping at 91 mph and having some tail in to RHHs. He uses his big curve as an out-pitch with late, hard downer action. Cody also flashed a harder breaking ball that had more of a 2-plane break to it. Overall, this is an exciting young pitching prospect to follow as he already has two quality offerings and the ability to use them well.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
