07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Colbey is a talented outfield prospect who plays the game athletically. In the field, Colbey plays with active footwork and agile actions as he takes good routes to the ball. He stays behind the baseball and presents his glove as he fields the ball in a square, athletic position. Colbey has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing consistently accurate throws. Offensively, Colbey has a square, athletic stance with a firm front side. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and short stride. Colbey shows fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path. He consistently lands the barrel to the ball and has the ability to use all fields. Colbey is a line drive type hitter who can drive the ball the ball to each gap. Overall, Colbey has the right approach on both sides of the ball and potential to get even better.

02/25/2018 - Interactive Video Program - West, TX Colbey is an athletic OF with a thin frame. Defensively, Colbey has active feet, he reads the ball off the bat well, and plays through properly. He presents his glove well, works behind fly balls properly, and throws with a short arm action with momentum to his target. At the plate, Colbey has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He has a good bat angle, makes consistent contact, and can work the ball gap to gap. Colbey can improve skills with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
