Foot speed is average and he utilizes his feet well through the throwing process displaying a quick release. Feet are active and aggressive through the blocking process showing range behind the plate in his lateral movement. Blocking skills are average with slightly above average receiving skills. Set up is solid allowing his hands to work around the baseball presenting a good view to umpire. Arm strength is slightly above average and he must get on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength while lowering pop times. Pop times will also continue to drop as he learns to finish his throws with his feet and hands. At the plate, Hale has near average hitting abilities with average power. Hands are direct to the baseball and flashes bat speed. He has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching his full potential with hitting and power grades improving quickly with instruction and adjustments at the plate. Colby has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
