03/22/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Greenville, SC Colby is a R/R (2020 grad) 2-way player as a 2B/RHP. With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup while working back into a strong loaded position. He lets the ball travel into the zone and waits for his pitch. Swing is level as he connects with strength, showing pop off of his barrel. Defensively at 2B, Colby hustles into a square fielding position and works to field the ball in front. He tracks the ball into his mitt and gathers well. On the mound, this RHP throws a FB & CB from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has smooth separation and works in-line toward the dish. FB ranges from 63-66 mph while curveball has gradual break. Arm works loose & free as he gets good glove side lead. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
