Additional Video Highlights Cole is a talented 2023 prospect with a projectable 6'3" frame. He is athletic on the mound with a coordinated delivery and quick arm that results in an easy 80-83 mph fastball with more in the tank. His 4-seamer has good finish to it with life through the zone. The difference maker for Cole is his curveball. It has depth and big vertical break making it a legitimate swing-and-miss pitch. He has confidence in it and lands it for strikes in any count with the ability to bury it as an out-pitch when he wants to put a hitter away. Cole also has feel for a change giving him three quality pitches - a solid starter's repertoire. He currently handles the challenging combination of being a RHP/C two-way player. He is sound behind the plate with strong hands and very good ability on balls in the dirt. He is the kind of guy that other pitchers like to throw to back there. At the plate he has a short compact stroke despite the long levers. The ball comes off his bat with authority and he has a mature middle-of-the-field approach with some flashes of pull-side power. Cole is a talented young player who is just scratching the surface of his potential.

Exclusive College Recruiting Program A projectable pitchers frame with an athletic delivery where he makes use of his lower half and shows arm strength with an ability to throw strikes and control the baseball within the strike zone. He has a fluid arm stroke with an ability to consistently repeat his delivery and release point and his ability to move his body with efficiency shows there is room to add velocity as he matures and continues to improve on the mound. FB velocity works up to the mid 80 MPH with room to reach upper 80 MPH by the time he reaches college. Has a pair of secondaries in his CHG which is in the 75-77 range with arm side fade and deception to the hitter. His CB is a slower breaking ball which plays well of his FB at the 69-71 MPH range with depth and ability to throw it for strikes. As he adds velocity the CB will increase in tightness of the spin and become more a swing and miss offering than a soft contact offering or cross count strike pitch. He has two-way potential as a RH hitter with feel for the barrel and enough athleticism in his frame to handle C, but there is still development than needs to be done on his receiving and blocking, but the arm works as a thrower. He is a two-way potential guy who profiles more on the mound currently, but there is potential for him to do both at the next level. An outstanding student with a 3.96 GPA and fantastic make up on and off the field. Plays for the Canes 18U program out of Washington.

Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic with Video Showcase (HS - East) Cole is a C/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of physical projection remaining. At C, shows efficient feet with good agility behind the dish. Good direction towards second base with an arm velocity of 82 mph and a best pop time of 2.14 seconds. Keeps head still and presents low target for pitchers to throw to. Accurate/on-line throws to second base. On the mound, Angel works with good tempo and was quick out of the stretch. He showed good rhythm to his delivery while keeping his eyes on mitt. Gathers over rubber, with good balance, and separates on time with a high 3/4 release point. 3 pitch mix with his FB topping out at 80mph and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with some depth. In live game action, he was able to minimize and didn’t allow a run in 3 innings of work. Right-handed hitter hits from an upright and open stance. Short stride, with level eyes at contact, and hits into a firm front side. Short/direct barrel path who hit line drives to all fields. Reached base 3 times, with 2 RBI's, and a bat exit velocity of 82mph in live game action. With one more year to continue his growth and development we expect opportunities for him to play at the next level.

05/30/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Hoquiam, WA Cole is an athletic C/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Receiving / blocking tools show as outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. Runners will not want to test his arm (83 mph velocity) with impressive pop times of 2.11. Offensively, he continues to shine with well above average hitting abilities and solid power potential through an athletic setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 76-77 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Cole has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
