01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cole is a solid/strong corner infielder who continues to show well on the diamond and did so again at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. With the bat, this righty displays an open setup with fluid rhythm to load. He takes a hack and connects with strength, driving the ball with pop (exit velocity = 90 mph). He hits the ball where it's pitched and uses the whole field. At 3B, Cole has athletic actions and works into a square fielding position. He presents his glove out in front, funnels smoothly and fires consistent/strong/accurate throws across the diamond. A 2022 grad - Bedwell has a solid skill-set with upside and still a ton of time to show what he can do.

10/06/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Grapevine (DFW), TX Cole continues to show improvement in his baseball abilities and is a top prospect on the diamond. He did show for the first time on the mound at the event. Foot speed is now above average as indicated by 60 time of 7.28. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved, now showing outstanding hitting abilities with near pro level power potential through an open, athletic setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing, driving the ball to the deepest part of the ball park, utilizing all fields. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / clean actions. He shows proper footwork in attacking balls and playing through with his body. Hands are soft /sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip (90 mph velocity) across the diamond.

07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Cole is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect. At 3B, Cole is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and works from the ground up. He works around the ball and gets his feet into an athletic position to throw the ball. He has good arm action and throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Cole starts in an open stance, he gets his front foot down on time, and keeps the barrel on plane to the ball. He makes good swing decision and hunts the fastball early in counts. He gets to balance but needs to continue to create backside drive with his lower half. On the bump, Cole attacks hitters with his fastball and tries to use his breaking ball as an out pitch. He separates on time, finds a balance point, and has a simple delivery. Cole is a hard worker and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
