07/09/2023 - Baseball Factory Seattle All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Cole is a 2025 C/RHP out of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada who continues to improve with his baseball abilities on the diamond. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with a soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.30 range. Times will continue to drop as he works to get rid of the baseball quicker. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 65-68 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays a 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. We look forward to seeing what the future holds as Cole enters his junior year.

04/16/2023 - National Showcase - Seattle, WA Cole is a 2025 C/RHP prospect with an athletic, long frame. Behind the plate, he shows off active feet and does a great job of presenting his hands out in front. He has good pocket awareness and can really stick pitches. He has a short arm action and makes accurate throws to his targets. He puts his chest in a good down angle on balls in the dirt and recovers well after blocking. Works hard to keep his glove down on balls that skip in the dirt. At the plate, he starts with an open stance and good balance. He is firm on the frontside with his lower half and his hips work through the baseball. He does a great job of throwing the knob of his bat to the ball and shoots consistent line drives to all fields as a result. He does an excellent job of finishing strong. On the mound, he has a quick arm action and throws from a 3/4 slot. He does a good job of staying tall and rotates to his target with a good glove tuck. He pivots nicely off his back foot. His FB has a little tail and SL features gradual break. He does a nice job of maintaining FB arm speed when throwing his CH. Excited to see Cole's development in all areas of the game with 2+ more years of high school ahead!

11/06/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Tomball (Houston), TX Cole is a C/RHP who will graduate in 2025. Tall frame lean build with some strength present. At C, he showed athletic actions, with an flexible hips, and has an easy sit. Has good glove actions, with good pocket awareness, and tracks ball to mitt. He replaces his feet as he gains ground to second base with good direction. Has a loose arm stroke, with a 3/4 release point, and arm velocity up to 72mph and a best pop time of 2.5 seconds. He showed good blocking angles as he works to keep balls in front of him. On the mound, he has long levers and a projectible frame. He keeps eyes on target throughout delivery and throws all of his pitches from the same window. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 65-66mph with plus command, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed. FB was best pitch during his bullpen. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and even stance. Showed smooth timing to his swing, with weight between his knees, and has a lower half driven swing. Gets knob to C and extends out front. A flat barrel enables him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Cole making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
