12/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Cole is a strong and talented 2023 1B prospect that continues to improve. At 1B, Cole is on time with his prep step, he presents a low early glove, and fields the ball in an athletic position. He has good instincts on the field but needs to continue to improve his mobility and range. At the plate, Cole starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and stays in his legs. He's aggressive to the ball and drives the ball gap to gap. Cole is eager to learn and works had. We hope to see him continue his progress into the future.

11/15/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Cole is an athletic 2023 1B prospect with a good work ethic and a high baseball IQ. At 1B, Cole is on time with his prep step, presents a low/early glove, and works from the ground up. He works off the bag well and knows his positioning on cut offs. He has good footwork on double plays and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing the ball. He needs to continue to keep his head down and see the ball into his glove when picking the ball. At the plate, Cole starts in a tall stance, loads his hands back, and gets his front foot down on time. He keeps a quiet head, creates backside rotation with his lower half, and has a compact swing. He needs to continue attack the inside part of the ball and stay in his legs. Cole makes hard contact gap to gap but needs to continue to keep a middle approach. Cole is a gamer and will continue to improve with experience.

08/12/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Elgin (Chicago), IL Cole is a young, solid, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Cole has young actions, he gets in a good ready position, and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He has a clean exchange, and throws with consistency from a short arm action to his target. On the mound, Cole stands over the rubber well balanced, he separates on time, and uses his lower body. Offensively, Cole has a square/athletic set-up, he loads well, and stands in with good balance. He has a good bat angle and has pull side pop in his bat. Cole can improve overall skills with work on the following.

1. Play more through
2. Quicken feet
3. Hands
1. Landing
2. Arm action
3. Finish/extension
1. Lower body
2. Rhythm
3. Swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
