05/07/2023 - National Showcase - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Cole is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing player with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At SS, he works to center the baseball and plays with good effort/energy. Works into an athletic fielding position with good glove actions and hands out front. Made accurate throws to first base from multiple arm slots, with momentum towards target, and an arm velocity up to 69mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and has level eyes. He has a simple and repeatable delivery. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 68-70mph with good command, a breaking ball with 10/4 shape, and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed that has some sinking action. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. A simple setup to start and showed ability to deliver the barrel. A direct barrel path enables him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 68mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - (MS) Cole is a 2027 SS/RHP who worked hard at the National World Series. At SS, he starts in a good ready position and quick/active feet with ability to make routine plays. Showed good lateral range as he gets good reads off the bat and takes aggressive routes to batted balls. He fields from an athletic/low fielding position with relaxed hands out front. Has a quick release to first base as he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 64mph. On the mound, he strides in-line, with eyes on target, and takes the proper stride length. Attacks hitters with a FB that sat 64-66mph with plus command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good depth, and a developing changeup. At the plate, he showed good hand/eye coordination and is centered at contact. Made contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 56mph during BP. With 5 years of continued development, we foresee this 2-way player having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
