He tracks well, keeps the ball in front when blocking, and he throws with consistency to his target.

Cole is a young dual position player that excels behind the dish. He has short arm action and is consistently accurate from the high 3/4 arm slot. He has firm hands with a clean exchange and effective/playable footwork. He is agile and has an athletic/low setup, and tracks the ball well, which allows him to get around the ball receiving. Cole moves well laterally and has good blocking technique. By shortening his footwork on his transfer, and getting extended on his throws, he will begin shedding time off his pop time. At times, he reaches for balls, allowing them to travel will clean up his receiving and raise his grades. As a shortstop, he has sure hands and a clean exchange. His feet are effective and playable allowing him to make routine plays with his solid glove skills and sound fundamentals. Playing through the ball, working on his pre-pitch footwork, and following his throws getting greater extension, will increase his fielding ability at short. Overall, the 2016 graduate has three years to increase his ability and continue improving. Pair time with his good tangibles across the board, and Cole should be a solid prospect for a college program.
