02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - East) Cole continues to show as a top prospect at the Opening Bay Classic. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate with on line carry (85 mph velocity) across the diamond. He moves well laterally and covers ground. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with excellent power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick generating bat speed (85 mph exit velocity) through an aggressive swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Cole continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Cole is an athletic 3B prospect that was eager to learn and has a good head on his shoulders. At 3B, Cole is on time with his prep step, he starts in an athletic stance, and fields the ball in an athletic stance. He has good hands but tends to be late with his glove and doesn’t always work from the ground up. He needs to continue to play through the ball and learn to throw from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Cole starts in an open stance, he has active hands, and has an explosive back side. He competes at the plate and put together several good at bats over the week. He has good separation and gets the barrel on plane to the ball. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and rotate his core to the ball. Cole has a bright future and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/11/2019 - College PREP - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Cole is a solid, athletic 3B who has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time at 7.12. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting with outstanding power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and aggressive working through a level swing path. He loads well and utilizes his lower half well with rhythm. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At 3B, feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft /sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with zip (82 mph velocity) across the diamond. With 3 years to further develop, Cole has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
