08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Cole continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, he has improved his hitting potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At SS, he displays proper footwork as he works to square balls up. Glove action is soft/sure but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls through a low approach. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball topped out at 55 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player.

02/10/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Cole is a 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Cole has active feet, he fields in a low position, and his hands are soft. He gets rid of it quickly, has a loose arm action, and throws with accuracy across the diamond. On the mound, Cole has a clean arm, he works well to his balance point, and he uses his front side well. Offensively, Cole has a square set-up, he loads well, and keeps a still head. He repeats his swing, uses some lower body, and makes square contact. Cole shows similar abilities from both sides of the plate. Cole can get better with work on the following.

Defense
1. Long toss
2. Play through
3. Throwing extension
Pitching
1. Lower body
2. Lengthen AA
Offense
1. Shorten swing
2. Contact points
3. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
