06/16/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Cole continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active but needs to attacks balls and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is firm and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has some strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18) Cole is an athletic and talented 2020 prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. Cole starts in an open stance, and tries to rotate his back side to the ball. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create rhythm in his hands, and create backside rotation with his lower half. Cole will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/15/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Cole is an athletic and talented 3B prospect that made several adjustments throughout the training weekend. At the hot corner, Cole works behind the ball and plays through his backhand. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step, present a low/early glove, and funnel the ball into his body. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Cole starts in an opens stance and loads his hands back. He uses the back side, stays balanced through contact, and is a gap to gap hitter. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and keep his head down at contact. Cole will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Cole continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a tall, open setup and an aggressive approach. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He stays inside the ball utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he makes consistent hard contact. At the event, he was 3 for 6. At 3B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/27/2017 - College PREP - Wilmington, DE Cole is a young, broad 3rd baseman who will graduate in 2020. Defensively, Cole makes plays on balls hit his way, he keeps the ball in front, and can feed the double play nicely. He has a clean exchange, and a loose arm action with some accuracy across the diamond. Defensive abilities can get better if Cole can quicken actions, soften his glove, and play more through the baseball. Offensively, Cole has a square set-up, proper load, and a level stroke. He stands in the box well balanced, has some bat speed, and squares the ball up on the barrel well. If Cole can use more lower body, at strength, and let the ball travel deeper, hitting numbers can further spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
