09/09/2018 - National Tryout Plus - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Cole is an atheltic OF/C prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Cole shows efficient footwork and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He gains momentum well on his throws and keeps them consistently on-line to his target. Cole can improve as an OF by making a cleaner exchange. Behind the plate, Cole presents a good target and tracks the ball well. He gains momentum on his throws and works to keep them accurate to his target. Cole can improve as a C by sitting in a more athletic stance. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load well and hits from a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed which leads to consistent contact to all fields. Cole can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. Overall, Cole is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Cole continued to show as a prospect during his time at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. Behind the plate, Cole shows active footwork and covers up well when blocking balls in the dirt. He tracks the ball into his glove and makes on-line throws to 2B. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a crouched stance and is smooth getting into his load. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to decent contact. Cole is a solid prospect with upside on the diamond.

07/10/2017 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Cole is a very coachable 2-way player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the California Select Training & Competition. Offensively, this LHH has an aggressive approach stepping into the box looking to swing it. He has smooth rhythm to load, whips the barrel with some speed and hits the ball to all parts of the field. He has a good eye for the zone as he drew 3 walks in game AB's. Behind the plate, he sits in well and presents a low target. He moves well laterally and bodies up pitches in the dirt off of his chest. Throws to 2B are accurate and he stays directional. At 3B, he comes to get the GB and tracks it into a soft mitt. Transfer is clean as he works in-line toward 1B. Continuing to long toss and strengthen his arm will aid in his development both as a catcher and a 3B. Only a 2021 grad, Cole has a ton of talent with a lot of time to continue to develop and mature physically.

03/19/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Cole is an athletic, 2-way player at C/OF. Behind the plate, his eyes track as he sticks pitches in the zone. He's quick to block and has a clean exchange to throw. In the OF, he's aggressive when fielding Gb's as he works into a low position. He works to stay behind the ball and makes low throws to his target. Offensively at the plate, Cole gets back into a load with a crouched stance. He tries to use his lower 1/2 to create power as he sprays pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Outfield
1. Quicker footwork
2. Develop softer hands
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Catching
1. Quiet body
2. More range
3. Quicker exchange to throw
Offense
1. Develop more rhythm
2. Improve bat speed
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
