12/09/2017 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend PHS- Columbia, MD Cole is a coachable, and hard working player that made several adjustments to further his skills at the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, Cole starts in a crouched position with a closed stance. He loads his hands back and uses his lower half. Continuing to separate, and get the front foot down on time will allow him to recognize pitches. Attacking the inside part of the ball will shorten his swing path and help him get extension through contact. Cole will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/15/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Cole is an OF/LHP who will graduate in 2024. Defensively in the OF, he hustles with active footwork and secures the fly ball with soft hands. He has a clean transfer and plays through the ball towards his target. On the hill, this LHP gathers over the rubber with a 3-pitch mix. He delivers a (FB, CUT, CH) from a hi 3/4 arm slot and stays directional towards home plate. With the stick, Cole shows a square setup with a still head. He swings on-plane through the zone and is a solid contact hitter. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral range
2. Work behind more
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Develop off speed
2. Lower 1/2 drive off rubber
3. Finish/extension
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Stay balanced
3. Improve bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
