06/14/2021 - All-In Membership - Charlotte, NC Cole is a pure catch and throw backstop who also will make an impact with the bat. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon for an arm (89 mph) with impressive pop times of 2.03. Offensively, he continues to shine with excellent hitting abilities with near pro level power potential. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (88 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. Cole has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

11/17/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Cole is a young RHP/C who will graduate in 2022. Behind the plate, Cole uses his feet efficiently and is very agile blocking balls in the dirt. He presents a low target and receives the ball with firm hands. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws consistent to 2B. Cole can improve defensively by quickening his exchange to throw. At the plate, Cole sets up in an athletic stance and takes his stride on time to meet the ball. He is smooth getting back into his load and leads well with his lower half, finishing with a firm front side. He takes an on-plane swing path to the ball with fast bat speed, leading to hard line drives. Cole can improve as a hitter by keeping his head on the ball throughout his swing. On the mound, Cole shows a three pitch mix with his fastball sitting from 59-61mph with good arm side tail. Breaking ball ranges from 47-48mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 50-51mph as he throws with fastball arm speed. Cole can improve as a pitcher by using his lower half more throughout his motion. Mental makeup is a plus as Cole displayed a great attitude and worked hard during the event. Overall, Cole is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills.

10/02/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Charlotte, NC Cole is a young, RHP/C who still has time to improve his game. On the mound, this righty keeps his eyes locked in on his target. He delivers a 3-pitch mix from a 3/4 arm slot as he keeps hitters off balanced with a deceptive CH. Behind the plate, eyes track as he receives each pitch. He works hard to keep balls in front of him and makes accurate throws down to 2B. With the bat, Cole stands in with a balanced setup. He tracks pitches thrown in and out of the zone as he creates consistent barrel contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Soft glove
2. Quicker exchange to throw
3. Lower arm slot
Pitching
1. More lower 1/2
2. Long toss
3. Pound the zone with strikes
Offense
1. Quick hands
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Level swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
