11/01/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Futures South Jackson stands a solid and strong 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds, and features an impressive combination of arm strength and raw power. He got his hands back, and made a full and aggressive move thru the zone - resulting in great action off the barrel, it got off with speed and backspin. It's a move built more for power than hitting ability at present, but with some work to get to contact quicker the gap stands to get smaller. Behind the plate, he posted workout times consistently under 1.9. He anticipated and worked his feet and body to the left, and showed an ultra quick exchange. His arm stroke was short and compact, and he was able to drive his throws down and thru the bag. He sat well behind the plate, and showed good hands to receive. Versatility is in his favor, he' also a more than capable defender at both corner infield spots - with a natural feel to handle the hops and move his feet.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
