10/04/2023 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic (2026) Cole continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Arizonia SOPH Fall Classic. At 1B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 83 mph. Fastball showed a range of 81-83 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Cole is a 2026 1B/LHP who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At 1B, Cole showed athletic actions, with active/efficient footwork, and creates good fielding angles. He works from left to right and fields from a low/square fielding position with soft hands out front. He presents a big target at first base with good bag awareness. He made accurate throws to second base from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a clean arm stroke. At the plate, he hits from an upright and even stance with loose hands. Has controlled rhythm to swing and showed good barrel control. A good hip turn enables him to hit balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 79mph during BP. During the event, he reached base 3 times with a double, and 2 base on balls. A left-handed pitcher, he has a good mound presence and is composed on the mound. He works exclusively from the stretch. He gathers over the rubber and works with good direction down the mound. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 81mph with arm side run, a 1/7 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup with sinking action. Cole is solid 2-way player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
