08/29/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Brockton (Boston), MA Cole continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.36 runner. At the plate is where he has improved the most now displaying well above average hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active and works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness well in covering a lot of ground in the OF. Throws are accurate with carry (80 mph velocity) to his target but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/15/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Marlborough (Boston), MA Cole continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He work to get behind and play through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increase foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

09/27/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Brockton (Boston), MA Cole is an athletic OF who will graduate in 2023. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall, closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Cole has potential with time and room to progress his game.

07/07/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Lowell (Boston), MA Cole is a young, lefty OF with a thin frame. Defensively, Cole has active feet, a presentable glove, and he covers ground well. He has good pre-pitch actions, makes plays consistently, and throws with a long arm action to his cut off man. At the plate, this LHH stands in the box with a square stance and good balance. He swings on plane, in rhythm, and makes square contact with strength to the pull side. Solid abilities can further improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
