Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/OFPosition Projection

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Cole is an athletic 3B/OF prospect with good upside. At 3B, Cole shows effective and smooth footwork as he works to the ball. He works hard to get the ball and fields on time and out in front of his body. His exchanges are quick as he works to throw and creates momentum towards his target. He works hard to make accurate throws and can improve by not rushing his throws as much. At the plate, Cole sets up in an open stance with comfortable hands as he starts his swing with a simple load. His rhythm is fluid as he fires his lower half though creating a fast swing making hard and consistent contact. He shows a solid line drive approach driving the ball gap to gap. Overall, Cole shows good upside at the plate and in the field and will continue to improve.

07/23/2019 - College PREP - Rindge, NH Cole is an athletic 3B/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through a squared, athletic setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and has strength in his swing as he drives the ball to deepest part of the park. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and he presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Cole has a lot of potential and will get looks from the college coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
