01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Cole is a 2023 1B/LHP who showcased his talents at the BF Pre-Season All-America Tournament. At first base, Cole has effective footwork, good range, and smooth actions. The lefty throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with great accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, Cole has a short but effective stride and smooth rhythm that allows for a good approach. Cole showed fast bat speed that correlated to an 84 exit velocity and high barrel accuracy. On the mound, Cole has a fastball with arm side run that topped at 78, a changeup that he can throw in any count, and a curveball with sharp break. In his outing, Cole threw 3 innings while allowing no hits and no runs with 3 strikeouts. With a year left to mature we expect that Cole will continue to do great things on the baseball field.

09/28/2022 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic (2023) Cole is a 2023 LHP/1B who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. At 1B, Cole showed good range and soft hands that work out front. He worked to center the baseball and presents a big target at first base. He fields from an athletic/low fielding position with a low funnel. He throws from a low 3/4 arm slot to second base with an arm velocity up to 82mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance with comfortable hands. He activates his hands and hits into a firm frontside. An on-plane swing enables him to hit line drives to all fields with a with a bat exit velocity up to 83mph during BP. During the games, he had 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a base on balls. A left-handed pitcher he has long levers and a projectible frame. He has good feel for pitching and is composed on the mound. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 76mph with some movement arm side, a 12/6 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup with some movement in the zone. He does a good job of slowing the run game down and fields his position. Cole is a 2-way player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

05/28/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - American Fork, UT Cole continues to show a big upside on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.25 runner. At the plate is where he has improved the most now displaying excellent hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing through an aggressive hip turn. At 1B, defensive abilities are excellent as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and presents well out front, consistently picking balls out of the dirt, saving throws. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground for a big guy. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 70-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Cole has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

04/11/2021 - All-In Membership - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Cole is a 2023 1B/LHP. Tall frame athletic build with long levers with plenty of room to fill out as he develops. Primary left-handed pitcher with whippy arm action and some deceptiveness to his delivery. Works down the mound with good tempo and rhythm. Ability to throw FB for strikes consistently. FB was up to 73mph with arm side run. Mixes in a 1/7 shaped curveball with some bite as it crosses the strike zone. Developing changeup with some sinking action. Secondary first baseman who does a good job of keeping balls in front of him. Glove works well scooping balls at 1st. Big target who showed good bag awareness. Clean transfers and online throws from a high ¾ arm slot with an arm velocity of 73mph. Left-handed hitter uses an upright and square stance. Short stride and balanced stride into launch position. Rotates well with a good bat angle at contact. Showed ability to make consistent contact as he sprayed the ball to all fields during BP. Recorded a bat exit velocity of 77mph. 3 years of continued growth and development will bode well for his opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
