06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Coleman continues to show a promising future on the diamond with the makings of a special type player at the next level. In the OF (a 6.63 runner) not many balls get down that are hit his way. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. A RHH - he stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving all parts of the field.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Nerren is an athletic 2017 Outfielder from Louisiana. In the OF, he flashes a big strong arm with very good carry and accuracy. Covers a lot of ground effortlessly due to his plus speed (6.6 60yd) and pre pitch movements. Takes great angles and plays through the ball well as he continues to impress as an OF. Offensively, Coleman sets up athletically, squared up, and loads on time with good rhythm. Direct path to the ball and finishes with proper extension. He can read pitches really well and should get on base frequently at the next level. With his speed and ability to play defense and get on base, Coleman fairs to be a solid player at the next level.

12/20/2014 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Coleman is a very athletic player as evidenced by his 6.7 60 time and excellent range in the OF. He hustles into position and consistently fields the baseball out in front. Coleman hustles all over the place and does as great job of backing up bases. Offensively, he has a square and balanced set-up with rhythm to load. He tracks the ball well, hits it where it's pitched and uses all fields effectively. Engaging and driving his lower 1/2 more will result in increased power at the plate. Only a 2017 grad - Nerren's skills will only continue to improve. He will make an impact with his skills and speed.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
