01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Colin continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his arm (89 mph velocity) with impressive pop times of 2.02. Offensively, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage (87 mph exit velocity), resulting in a barrel accuracy with gap to gap pop.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Colin is an athletic and talented 2021 Catching prospect with a high baseball IQ. Behind the dish, Colin starts in a relaxed stance, he presents a low/early glove, and he works under the ball. When blocking, he lead with his glove and he controls the ball with his chest. When throwing, he gains ground, he creates momentum into the ball, and he makes strong/accurate throws. At the plate, Colin starts in a tall stance, he loads his hands back into the drive positon, and he attacks the inside part of the ball. He rotates his back side and he looks to drive the ball to all fields. Colin is highly motivated and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/27/2019 - Accelerated College PREP - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Colin is a strong C/SS prospect who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, Collin is fluid moving to block and keeps the ball in front of him. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to the 2B bag. In the field, Colin shows quick footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with good extension through the ball, leading to consistent gap to gap pop. Overall, Colin is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
