10/17/2020 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 12-14) Colin displayed some very solid swing mechanics and athleticism during the Offensive Skills Weekend. Has a long and lean frame he uses to create ample leverage during his swing. Has an open setup that he strides back to square with no issues to create a ton of rhythm. Explodes the lower half and back side during the swing and sends the energy up the chain properly over a strong front side creating plus of bat speed. 80 mph exit velocity resulted from the proper use of his body and a clean connected swing path delivering the barrel with authority. Big things ahead for Colin.

10/06/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Colin raised arm velocity to 66 MPH, exit velocity to 69 MPH, and showed hitting improvements at his last workout. At 1st base, Colin fields athletically, hands are soft, and he makes plays. He moves well through the ball, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum from a short/loose arm to his target. Behind the plate, Colin has active feet, he tracks to his glove, and stays down when blocking. He gains ground and throws with accuracy to 2nd base. At the plate, Colin has an athletic stance, he loads his hands well, and swings aggressively. He has fast bat speed, makes square contact, and shows power in his stick. Solid skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Play more through
2. Arm strength
Catching

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Colin is an athletic and talented 2025 prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. At the plate, Colin starts in a squared stance, activates his hands in his load, and stays balanced in his lower half. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create backside rotation with his lower half, and keep his head down at contact. Colin will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/20/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Colin is a young, 2-way player who catches and plays 1B. Behind the plate, Colin has a solid stance, young/raw actions, and he sits in low and athletically. He has a good work ethic behind the plate, a clean exchange, and a long arm action with accuracy to his target. At 1B, Colin has active feet, he fields in a low/square position, and has a clean exchange with consistency to 2nd base. Pop times were as low at 2.51 seconds. Offensively, Colin has an aggressive swing, he stands in the box squarely, and he works the middle of the field. He has a simple swing, a loose grip, and a short swing path through the ball. Colin can further improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Play through
2. Release
3. Hands
Infield
1. Bag awareness
2. Arm strength

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
