01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Collin is a tall RHP prospect who showed well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. On the mound, Collin gathers over the rubber and shows fluid hand separation. He works with a loose arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Collin shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 87mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 69-71mph with sharp 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 78-79mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Collin is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

07/24/2019 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Colin is a long and lean RHP/SS that showed plus tools on the mound and infield. On the bump, Colin shows a developed 3-pitch mix with a FB/CB/CH. His FB shows sink at 83-86 mph, a CB with 11-5 sharp break, and a CH with depth. He shows solid mechanics gathering and separating on time with a loose and fast arm action. His stride stays in line and he rotates well finishing to the target. At SS, Colin shows smooth footwork with agile range to both sides. He fields the ball with strong hands and makes clean exchanges. His arm action is loose, and he lets the ball rip across the diamond with a strong arm. (90 mph raw velo) At the plate, Colin starts tall with a square stride and keeps a good center of balance. He creates great extension as his drives the ball to all fields with a line drive approach showing plus barrel control. Colin shows phenomenal competitiveness and will be a player to watch as he moves closer to graduation.

12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Colin is a coachable RHP/SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Under Armour Recruiting Classic. On the mound, Colin starts with a simple rock step and gathers to a balance point over the rubber. He is fluid separating his hands and works with a loose arm, staying inline towards the plate. Colin shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 85mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 69-71mph with sharp 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 72-76mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Colin takes a good first step and displays active footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated on time and remains centered with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Colin is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

11/25/2018 - College PREP - Pearland (Houston), TX Colin is a tall SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2020. In the field, Colin shows efficient footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. Colin can improve defensively by consistently attacking ground balls aggressively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to square contact and gap to gap pop. Taking a square stride to the pitcher can help Colin improve as a hitter. On the mound, Colin gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, finishing square to the plate. Colin shows a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 84mph with tailing action. Curveball sits from 67-69mph with 10-4 break. Slider sits from 69-70mph with good movement. Changeup sits from 74-75mph with tailing action. Colin can improve as a pitcher by driving his lower half more. Overall, Colin is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
