07/19/2019 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Collin is a young C/RHP that will continue to improve as he grows. Behind the plate, Collin presents his hands well and sets up square. As he throws to second, Collin gains ground getting rid of the ball with a quick arm action with throws on the bag. Blocking, he creates good angles but could improve by getting to the ground sooner. Hitting, his set up is square with loose hands. He gets a small load with a soft stride controlling his timing well. His swing is short and fast showing consistent contact to the pull side. Pitching, Collin shows a 2-pitch mix with a FB/CH. He sets up square keeping his glove centered and strides in line getting his chest over his front knee. Working on long toss will help Collin improve his arm strength. Collin shows to be a coachable kid that makes adjustments well.

06/17/2019 - Interactive Video Program - New Britain (Hartford), CT Collin is a young, catcher/SS who graduates in 2025. Behind the plate, Collin has fluid/active feet, a soft/presentable glove, and he fields in a square position. He gains ground, has a quick/clean exchange, and throws with consistency and accuracy to 2nd base. At SS, Collin has active feet, he fields in a low/athletic position, and his hands work well. He makes plays, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy from a short arm action to his target. At the plate, Collin has an athletic stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has quick hands and makes hard/consistent contact. Collin can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
