05/22/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Parker, CO Collin is a SS who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.94 seconds. At SS, he works to center the baseball, with quick/active footwork, and creates good fielding angles. Works from right to left, with aggressive approach to baseball, and works through the baseball. He fields from an athletic/square fielding position, with hands out front, and has a quick exchange. Has a short arm stroke, with a 3/4 release point, and has good carry on his ball across diamond. Showed good touch on his DP feeds. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. A simple swing, with activated hands, and is centered at contact. An all field approach enables him to spray balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph. With another year of growth and development, we foresee Collin having a bright future on the baseball field.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Collin is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Recruiting Classic. In the field, Collin is agile covering ground and gets into an athletic position. He fields with sure hands and has a quick exchange, making accurate throws to his target. Collin can make more backhand plays by getting his glove down sooner. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and works to barrel up the baseball, spraying the ball to all fields. Taking a square stride toward the pitcher can help Collin create more consistent contact. On the mound, Collin gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He extends through his release and stays inline toward the plate, finishing square to his target. Collin operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 66-68mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 64-65mph. Collin can improve his pitch command by working on a consistent release point. Overall, Collin is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/10/2021 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Collin continues show improvements his baseball abilities at the Academic All-American showcase. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.29 runner. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally and covers ground in the MIF. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-77 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/26/2021 - All-In Membership - Lakewood (Denver), CO Collin is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Collin shows proper footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He shows smooth rhythm and hits against a strong front side. He works through a level swing and sprays the ball to all fields. On the mound, Collin gathers over the rubber and works with a quick arm. He has a soft landing and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Collin operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-64mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 62-65mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Collin is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
