Official Scouting Report

  • 2B/3BPosition Projection

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Colton is a talented 2B/3B prospect in the class of 2021. He displays his effort and energy making him a lot of fun to watch and a great player to have on the field. In the infield, he uses efficient footwork to create good lateral range. Glove is solid, with a good feel for his backhand, as he presents his glove out in front followed by a clean exchange. Arm is accurate from a quick release and he shows the ability to throw from multiple arm angles. He has a good presence in the box, as this RHH starts in an open stance with a square/balanced stride. He uses his lower half to generate power and extends his hands to create consistent line-drive type contact (exit velo = 86 mph). Brooks is an electric player and has the skills to play at the next level.

08/14/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Parker (Denver), CO Colton is an athletic 2B prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Colton shows quick footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a short swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Colton is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
