07/29/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Colton is a very hard worker who brings a positive attitude to the field every day. Behind the dish, he sits in well with quiet/athletic actions. He works around pitches in the dirt and centers pitches off of his chest. He controls the game and works well with his pitchers. Continuing to strengthen his arm (long toss program) will help to lower pop times. At the plate, this RHH has rhythm to load and waits for his pitch. He has good zone awareness and doesn't swing at much that he cannot square up. Cammack is a versatile athlete who has the ability to play the OF as well. He competes on the field and is a great teammate.

03/22/2015 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Colton is a junior catcher with a 5'11/155 lbs frame, with consistent ability on all sides of the ball. Defensively, he receives with a sure glove in front and tracks the baseball in, sticking low pitches with a firm wrist. He is quick to move laterally and drops to block - anticipating the ball in the dirt. He works good momentum to throw - flashing pops in the 2.13 - 2.3 range. Staying in his lower half to throw and consistently getting the glove in front to receive will polish his defensive skills. Offensively, he gets to a decent hitting position with his hands activated. He delivers the barrel staying inside the ball and works a contact approach to pressure the defense. More lower half drive and a more compact barrel delivery will boost his bat speed and pop. All in all - Colton is an intriguing prospect that has another year to add consistency and strength for the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
