01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Colton is a SS/RHP out of Mashpee, MA who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame with some strength present and plenty of room to develop. At SS, efficient feet and ability to move lateral. Good rhythm to actions with good fielding angles. Works into a low/square fielding position with some feel for glove pocket. Short arm action into a high 3/4 arm slot with a recorded an arm velocity of 81 mph. A right-handed hitter who hits from an open and athletic stance. Showed an aggressive approach at the plate and ability to make hard contact. In live game action, he reached base 3 times and showed pull side pop with a bat exit velocity of 76mph. On the mound, he showed clean mechanics and the ability to work down the mound. Showed a 2 pitch mix with the ability to locate his fastball. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having the opportunity to play at the next level.

12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Colton is a projectable SS/RHP who showed well at the Academic All-America Tournament. He showed well in the infield while creating + angles to the ball and showing the ability to finish plays. He creates momentum to produce accurate throws from across the field with a quick 3/4 arm action. Colton shows great potential at the plate with a short/compact swing producing consistent contact up the middle of the field. He jumps on first pitch FB's and looks to put the ball in play consistently. On the mound, he shows a 3-pitch mix (FB/CB/CH) with the ability to go after hitters and get ahead in counts. He shows feel by having great command of his pitches with movement. He works to keep the ball down in the zone, resulting in GB outs. This 2023 grad has a solid all-around skill-set with upside and a bright future ahead in the game.

11/21/2020 - New England Regional Offensive Skills and Pitching/Catching Combined Weekend Colton continues to improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Fastball showed a range of 69-72 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

09/27/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Brockton (Boston), MA Colton is a wiry/projectable SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he showed a controlled / repeatable delivery that allows his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed range of 68-70 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Colton has potential with time and room to progress his game.

08/18/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Providence, RI Colton is a young, 2-way player with good athleticism. At SS, Colton has active feet, a presentable glove, and he takes good angles to the ball. He has good range, makes plays consistently, and throws with a quick/clean arm across the diamond. On the mound, this RHP has good balance over the rubber and a quick/clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time, gets good extension on his pitches, and he finishes in a complete position. Offensively, Colton has a tall/square stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a short/direct barrel and works the middle of the field. Colton can continue to improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
