Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

09/19/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Hobbs, NM Conagher is a C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. Tall frame athletic build with plenty of room to add throughout. On the mound, he has a good mound presence and is a fiery competitor. He gathers over the rubber and has good direction down the mound. Uses his front side well, with a loose arm action, and ability to hide the baseball. Throws 4 quality pitches with plus command on all 4. FB sat 76-77mph with good run, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good depth/tilt, a slider with good depth, and a changeup with good sink that he throws with FB arm speed. CH was his best pitch during his bullpen session. At C, he has efficient feet and presents a low target. Good lateral movement, with good blocking angles, and centers the baseball. Works thumb under, with a quick/clean exchange, into a 3/4 release point with accurate/on-line throws to second base. Arm velocity was up to 84mph and his best pop time was 2.15 seconds. A switch hitter, from the right side he hits from a square and athletic stance. Showed an aggressive approach, with a late bat whip, and ability to deliver the barrel. During his round of BP, he showed pull side power with a bat exit velocity up to 88mph. From the left side, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Gets his hands in slot and swings with intent. Keeps his hands inside baseball as he hit balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph during BP. He showed better from the right side during BP. With continued development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
