09/06/2015 - College PREP - Kansas City, KS Conner is a thick / strong SS/RHP that will graduate in 2017 with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is slightly above average as indicated by his 7.44 60 time. At SS, feet are active / aggressive as he moves well laterally and works to square balls up, displaying soft / sure hands. He attacks balls and plays through well with his body, displaying smooth, clean actions. Feet / hands work well together through the fielding process and he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent contact as he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Off speed stuff shows potential as being quality pitches at the next level. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. With 2 years to further develop, Conner has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.
