11/01/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Futures Texas Conner is a unique young player with an extremely exciting set of tools. He combines a physical, strong 6'1" frame with 6.65 speed in the 60 and 93 mph raw arm strength. On top of that, he swings it from the left side with a short, compact stroke. At the plate he uses the middle of the field very well and has a swing geared for hard line drives. He is unfazed by velocity and has an approach that makes it hard to imagine a fastball at any level that can sneak by him. Defensively, he takes good angles and is aggressive through the ball. His throws are consistently low and accurate with life through the target. On top of it all, Conner plays with great energy. He is an extremely talented prospect with a bright future.

01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Capel has an athletic frame with present strength at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds. He maintains athletic positions to hit, and applies strength at contact with bat speed to produce standout impact ability. He is a well rounded offensive player that drives the ball from gap to gap, and runs the bases aggressively and instinctually. He runs better down the line (4.37 from the left side) than in the 60, and shows arm strength suitable to any OF spot.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
