05/23/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Conner is a SS/RHP prospect in the class of 2023. He shows off good athletic ability through his testing. In the field, he shows active feet and the ability to work downhill. Did a good job creating angles towards the baseball. Stays low on the backhand ball. Showed good feel on double play balls. Quick release and accurate throws. Was up to 83 MPH throwing across. At the plate, he hit from an athletic stance and showed a simple swing. Clean rhythm and timing helped consistently get his barrel into the zone efficiently. Got his lower ½ through the baseball. On the mound, he showed overall clean mechanics. Pitched from a ¾ arm slot. Showed the ability to throw all 3 pitches for strikes. Fastball was up to 77 MPH and had tailing action. Breaking ball was 11-5 shaped. Conner is a well-rounded player and we hope to see him again in the future.

12/20/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Conner is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament. In the field, Conner shows active footwork and makes the routine plays. He throws from a low 3/4 angle and works to make accurate throws to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Conner field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and uses the entire field well. Conner can produce more consistent contact by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Conner gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Conner shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph. Breaking ball sits from 63-65mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits at 71mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release can help Conner improve his pitch command. Overall, Conner is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/14/2020 - All-In Membership - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Conner is a young (2023 grad) R/R 2-way player (RHP/SS) who showed well on the diamond. On the mound, this righty has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point, keeps his eyes on the target and repeats his delivery well. FB tops out at 77 mph as he commands it to both sides of the dish. Curveball has 10/4 shape with early break. Changeup shows to be his best off-speed pitch with sinking action - complimenting his FB well. At SS, he shows active prep footwork and moves well on the balls of his feet. He works fluidly to and through the GB, gathers well and has a clean transfer to throw. He has the ability to throw from multiple arm slots. At the plate, this RHH displays an open stance with balance and patience waiting for a pitch he likes. He takes an aggressive hack and gets a lot of out his swing. He barrels the ball up and looks to drive the middle of the field. Only a 2023 grad - Conner has a solid skill-set with upside and still time to develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
