12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Conner continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, feet work in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw lowest pop time to date at 2.25 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 2 for 7 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard.

11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Conner continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.25. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.25. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone. He uses his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the plate. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 2 for 3 with a 2B and HR. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/01/2017 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Conner is a (5'7"/160) 2-way player who catches and plays 3B. Behind the plate, Conner has a low setup, quick footwork, and he presents his glove well. He has good direction, keeps the ball in front when blocking, and throws with a short arm action with consistency to his target. Increased arm strength (long toss) will aid in lowering pop times. At 3B, Conner has moves well to the ball, he keeps it in front of his body, and makes the plays consistently. He centers the ball well, has a low exchange, and throws with a short arm action to his target. If Conner can smooth out his footwork, field further out in front of his body, and play more through the ball, abilities in the INF can improve. At the plate, Conner has a square/athletic set-up, a proper load, and he uses his lower 1/2. He keeps his eyes on the ball, makes consistent contact, and can work the ball gap to gap. Better timing, more direct hands to the ball, and looser actions all can help abilities at the plate improve. Only a 2020 grad, Conner has skills with still time to develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
