Official Scouting Report

  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Conner continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 66 mph. Arm action is loose / easy and works well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 68-70 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. At 2B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/07/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Bradenton (Tampa Bay), FL Conner is a young, 2-way player who plays 2B and RHP. Defensively, Conner has efficient footwork, soft hands, and he fields in a square position. He fields out in front, funnels well, and throws with accuracy from a quick arm action across the diamond. On the mound, Conner has good balance, he separates on-time, and lands with good direction toward home. At the plate, Conner has a square/balanced set-up, a short stride, and he tracks the ball well. He uses his lower 1/2 well and hits hard to the pull side. Conner can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
