Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1BPosition Projection

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Connor is a talented/athletic (6'1"/217) two-way (1B/RHP) prospect in the class of 2021. At 1B, he uses good bag awareness and covers ground laterally through smooth footwork. He receives the ball with a firm glove and has a good feel for his glove side. Connor makes routine plays with ease and uses a clean exchange into a quick release. Throws are consistent and online from a high 3/4 arm slot. At the plate, this righty has a fluid/balanced motion through his load, working through his lower half to generate power (exit velo = 90 mph). Connor has fast hands producing hard contact with the ability to crush the ball deep into the gaps. On the mound, this righty uses a three-pitch mix to compete against hitters. FB ranges 80-81, CB has 11-5 shape with good depth, and SL has 10-4 shape with sharp break. Connor is a fun player to watch and has the potential to play at the next level.

05/23/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Columbia, SC Connor is a tall, strong 1B who has a promising future on the diamond. Defensively at 1B, he shows active prep with fluid actions. He works around the GB and through it as he gains ground toward his target. Footwork around the bag is solid and he is a quality receiver. Exchange is clean with accurate throws but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Backhand is smooth with a quick release. At the plate, he has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone (88 mph exit velocity) as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he crushes it to the gaps. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently through the swing. Connor has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
