Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/LHPPosition Projection

09/27/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Futures West Connor is a talented 2-way player, with a strong XL frame and some standout tools. As a position player, his power potential stands out immediately. He channels his strength through the barrel at the plate and drives balls with authority. He makes a full move through contact producing some loft backspin to the pull side. Connor has a coordinated swing with feel for the barrel leading to the belief that will hit plenty well enough to get to the power in games. At 1B he is athletic and nimble around the bag. He has a natural feel for the position and plenty of arm for any throw necessary. On the mound, Connor is an intimidating presence with a clean, repeatable delivery. He produces easy fastballs up to 87mph with more in the tank, and he complements his FB with a sharp two-plane breaking ball and a tailing change. He is strike thrower with lots of upside on the mound. Overall, Connor is an excellent young 2-way player who needs to be watched closely at both spots.

07/25/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U Participant Pitcher's frame, 80-84mph FB from over the top, good mechanics, downhill, stays directional, fields position well, sharp 11/5 CB 69-71mph, commands the zone with both pitches, arm action is clean and free. 5inn pitched. No runs.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
