Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/OFPosition Projection

04/10/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Waterford Township (Detroit), MI Connor showed at 3B and in the OF for the first time at the event. He has improved his baseball abilities since the last time we saw him. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He moves well laterally displaying range. Glove action is clean as he makes the routine plays. Presenting his glove more out in front will help to avoid getting the ‘in between' hop. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He utilizes two hands well and displays a clean exchange. Continuing to increase foot speed will aid in increasing range. At the plate, hitting / power potential has really improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick as he takes a hack through an aggressive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel and works inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Connor is a coachable player who brings a positive attitude to the field every day. At 3B, he shows active prep and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He works through the GB left of center, has a clean exchange and stays directional toward his target at 1B. Working to stay on top of his throws while following them toward 1B will help to improve accuracy (avoid tail). At the plate, Connor shows a balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. He has quiet/simple actions and battles, working deep into the count (3 singles at the event). Working to be shorter/more direct on his path to the ball will help to increase pop off of the barrel. This 2018 grad has upside with still time develop to get to where he wants to be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
