03/31/2019 - College PREP - Greensboro, NC Connor is an athletic OF/3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Connor shows active footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Connor can improve as an OF by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At 3B, Connor makes the routine plays and works to make accurate throws to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Connor improve as a 3B. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a closed stance and leads well with his lower half. He produces fast bat speed through the zone, leading to solid contact to his pull side. Connor can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Connor is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Connor is an athletic and talented 2019 OF prospect that worked hard all week. In the OF, Connor is aggressive to the ball, he presents a low glove, and has smooth hands. He creates momentum in his lower half and makes accurate throws. He needs to be on time with his pre step and improve his first step to the ball. At the plate, Connor starts in an athletic stance and has an explosive backside. He has fast hands and rotates his lower half into the ball. He needs to continue to load his hands back into the drive position, keep a middle approach, and get his front foot down on time. Connor needs to continue to make adjustments and will improve with experience.

08/12/2018 - College PREP - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Connor is a solid, athletic OF who will graduate in 2019. In the OF, he displays fluid / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Connor has potential with a lot of room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
