Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Manalapan, NJ Connor is a 2B/RHP who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame strong build and plenty of room to develop. In the infield, he starts with a good prep step and showed active/efficient feet. Works around baseball, with good direction towards target, and showed good range glove side. Has a long arm stroke, with ability to throw from multiple arm angles, and made accurate throws with an arm velocity up to 78mph. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. He separates his hands on time and keeps his eyes on his target. Flashed a FB that sat 68-69mph, a 9/3 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup. A right-handed hitter who hits from an athletic and open stance. Athletic setup, with a good lower half turn, and ability to get top hand through the hitting zone. Shows a high finish as he hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph during BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Connor having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Connor is a 2025 2B/RHP out of Midland Park, NJ who continues to shine with his baseball abilities and did so at the Preseason All American Rookie Showcase. At 2B, he displays fluid/smooth actions. Feet are active as he moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and works through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Connor as he enters his freshman baseball season.

12/19/2021 - All-In Membership - North Branford, CT Connor is a young, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Connor has fluid/active feet, a low/square fielding position, and a soft/presentable glove. He moves well laterally, fields out in front of his body, and he throws with accuracy and consistency from a loose arm action to his target. If Connor can add aggressiveness and arm strength, defensive grades will improve. On the mound, Connor has a clean arm circle, on-time separation, and a controlled landing toward home plate. He has some glove side lead, finishes toward his target, and competes in the zone. Abilities on the mound can improve if Connor can improve balance, finish, and add arm strength. At the plate, Connor has a tall/square stance, good balance, and a direct barrel through the ball. He has some bat speed, he makes level contact, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. Work on rhythm, load, and added strength will improve hitting numbers.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
