03/13/2021 - Spring Pro Training Experience - MD (MS) Connor is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Spring Pro Training Experience. Behind the dish, Connor sits in an athletic stance and receives with a quiet glove. He moves on time to block and centers the ball in the middle of his body. Getting rid of his throws quicker can help Connor lower his pop times. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He shows controlled rhythm and hits against a strong front side. He works through a smooth swing and rotates his core well, driving the ball from gap to gap. Connor can generate more pop off the barrel by getting his hands activated in his load. Overall, Connor is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Connor continued to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Academic All-American tournament. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.45 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side.

02/29/2020 - Baseball Factory Mid-Atlantic Combined Skills Training - Columbia, MD (Ages 12-14) Connor had a very good showing at the Baseball Factory Skills Weekend. He made a big jump in exit velocity to 64 mph and has a solid hitting foundation. He does a good job of keeping his head quiet and his direct path to the ball leads to consistent solid contact. As he continues to mature physically Connor should be able to limit a little of his backward lean and use the whole field a bit more. Behind the plate Connor showed good flexibility and strong, confident hands - 2 hallmarks of a good catching prospect. he is solid all-around with a good idea of how to present pitches for strikes. Overall, left-handed hitting catchers are always a hot commodity and we look forward to watching this one develop!

12/29/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Connor is a long, lean, 2-way player who catches and plays 3rd base. Behind the plate, Connor has active feet, soft hands, and good flexion. He sits in squarely, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a loose arm action to 2nd base. At 3B, Connor has active feet, a low fielding position, and he plays through the ball; getting rid of it quickly to his target. At the plate, this LHH has an open stance, a square stride, and good balance. He tracks well, has a level/compact swing, and he hits hard to the pull side. Solid skills can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
