12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Connor continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with a soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.25 range with accuracy/carry on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and has great knowledge of the game.

08/09/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Connor is an athletic R/R 2-way player (C/2B) who showed well on the diamond. Behind the dish, he sits in well with athletic actions and flexion tracking pitches into a soft mitt. He moves well laterally and works to center pitches in the dirt off of his chest. Transfer/exchange is quick with zip on his throws - pop times at 2.10. At SS, he shows active prep and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. He moves fluidly right to left, funnels smoothly and works in-line toward 1B with the ability to throw from multiple arm slots. As a hitter, he has an athletic setup with active/loose hands to load. Swing is quick as he engages his lower 1/2 and creates consistent/hard contact. Fustenberg is a solid 2-way prospect who should find success in this only his sophomore year.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
