12/20/2013 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City Connor is a solid catcher that will graduate in 2014 with a lot of potential behind and at the plate. Feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times still show in the low 2's with accuracy / carry on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he continues to increase foot quickness and builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking skills are quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, Grant continues to shine as he displays well above average hitting abilities with solid power numbers through an squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact, showing a feel for the barrel with ball jumping off the bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to load more and transfer weight properly through his lower half. At the event, he was 3 for 9 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude and good instincts with solid leadership abilities behind plate. Connor has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.
