08/19/2018 - College PREP - Dickinson, ND Connor is an athletic 1B/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, he shows outstanding hitting abilities with tremendous power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At 1B, defensive abilities are tremendous as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls through a low approach. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 78-81 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Connor has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
